SPACE AS A PRE-REQUISITE
KNOWLEDGE HABITAT is premised on the notion that space for collaboration is a foundational and first principle because it forms the basis of many other principles for innovation. At its core, innovation all about collaboration to solve a series of interconnected problems. Without space for collaboration, individuals are likely to work in isolation, limiting their potential to ideation and network. Conversely, by creating a specialized space for collaboration, individuals and organizations are empowered to work together to tackle complex challenges, share knowledge and expertise, and create value by co-developing innovative solutions.
Therefore, the KNOWLEDGE HABITAT Design consideration for collaborative space stands as a pre-requisite and a "first" to culture making, tools, and a whole slew of other variables. Every idea, every problem and every participant must at first be hosted with a unique space to inhabit. The KNOWLEDGE HABITAT spacial dimensions span across the following 5 mediums of design considerations: cognitive, logical, digital, physical and market place.
AGENT-BASED MODEL
KNOWLEDGE HABITAT is a multi (agent-based) innovation ecosystem to host and enable the dynamic interactions between a wide range of particiipants through an evolutionary network of collaborations. It is structured as a network of modular spaces. Each space is specifically conceived to host a distinct activity that is at once autonomous and coherent part of a mosaic whole. Linkages and collaborations between spacial activities are synched, mediated and brokered across 7 layers of aggregation.
The layered, modular structure provides a level of abstraction that enables flexibility and adaptability. This architecture is inherently meta-design, as it sets about a framework for future expansion, adaptation, or reconfiguration by system agents. By including mechanisms like "Feedback Loops", the process sets the stage for the ongoing evolution of the ecosystem. This self-correcting design is not fixed but invites continual re-design and optimization.
